Looking for that Hollywood Smile?

Looking for that Hollywood Smile?

If you are looking to have a million dollar smile that you only see on the red carpet, then veneers may be exactly what you are looking for. Today, more and more celebrities have porcelain veneers custom made to give them perfect looking teeth. Actors like George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and Miley Cyrus have all improved their smile with the help of veneers.

What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are placed over your natural teeth to help improve the overall look of your smile. You are able to choose the color and shape of your veneers to help make your smile brighter and more symmetrical.

Dr. Inna Trogan, one of our dentists here at Signature Smile Dental says, “Many people have this conception that your smile will look fake with veneers, but modern veneers have a translucent quality that actually looks very real, you would never know that they aren’t your natural teeth!”

Are Veneers Right for Me?

Veneers are a great solution for many cosmetic improvements. If you have discolored, cracked, chipped, slightly crooked, or gapped teeth, then veneers will dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. Also, as an added bonus – the porcelain material used for veneers is less susceptible to stains from tobacco, coffee, and wine. Veneers could also be a good alternative to crowns since veneers require less of the natural tooth to be removed.

How are Veneers Applied?

Here at Signature Smile General & Cosmetic Dentistry, the procedure will take 3 visits to our Brooklyn Heights office. In your first visit, you will be seen by either Dr. Evelina Tolchinsky DDS or Dr. Inna Trogan DDS to find out if this procedure is right for you.

In your second visit to the Signature Smile Dental office, Dr. Evelina Tolchinksy or Dr. Inna Trogan will remove a small layer of enamel from the front of your teeth. Typically only 1/2 a millimeter is needed to be removed. This is to make room for the porcelain shell to fit on your teeth without looking unnatural. This process may require local anesthesia.

Our dentists will then take a mold of your teeth which will be sent to a lab to create your new veneers.

In your third and final visit, our dentists will adhere the veneers to the front of your teeth with an adhesive material.

The Cost of Veneers

Having a Hollywood smile means you will most likely have to lay out some Hollywood cash. Veneers are one of the most expensive cosmetic procedures available with a high price tag of $1,000-$2,500 per tooth. Keep in mind, this procedure is also not typically covered by insurance. To save money, most patients will place veneers only on the top front teeth since they are most visible and bleach the remaining teeth for a radiant smile.
