Five Flossing Tools For A Bright Smile

Five Flossing Tools For A Bright Smile

Flossing your teeth is an important part of your dental care regiment. With all the flossing tools available, it can be confusing deciding which one will give you the optimum results. Here are five flossing tools that can be used to remove that cavity causing residual food particles in between your teeth:

  • Traditional String Floss. Traditional floss is made up of polytetrafluorethylene or nylon. Nylon floss can be described as a monofilament. All that means is that it comprises of many single strands of nylon which may shred while you are flossing your teeth. However, traditional floss can be extremely effective at removing debris and plaque as long as they are used properly.
  • Flossers. Flossers are also referred to floss picks. They are easy to use on the go, which means that you have no excuse for not flossing. Stash them in your bag briefcase or pocket. Flossers have a handle on one end and a piece of floss attached on the other end. Because flossers only have a small piece of floss, dentists recommend wiping the floss after using it or rinsing your mouth frequently.
  • Floss threaders. This flossing instrument is suited for people with braces, bridges or any other dental fixtures that may come in the way of flossing. They are used by passing the end of the floss through the loop of the threader , then using the threader to maneuver the floss underneath braces or bridges. Although this may sound like an extremely tedious process, it is the most practical way to clean around dental appliances.
  • Interdental brushes. Interdental brushes are cone-shaped or round brushes that are designed so that they are thin enough to slide in between teeth. They are available with both long and short handles and are used by individuals who gave trouble using traditional floss or prefer not to floss with traditional floss.
  • Waterflosses. Waterflosses use streams of water to clean in between your teeth. They are handheld instruments, and just like interdental brushes and floss threaders, they are most suitable for those individuals who have dental bridges and braces.

Irrespective of which one of these flossing tools you prefer, it is extremely important to make flossing a daily ritual within your dental care routine.
